6mm hardiebacker tile backerboard is a fibre cement backerboard tiling base and is especially suited as used as a tiling base for flooring in wet areas. Position each piece of backer board in the thin set press in place and attach using special backer board screws on the spacing recommended by the backer board manufacturer. Here is my concern. Hardiebacker cement board is made better to install better and perform better. Score the board with a utility knife then cut it using a jig saw with a carbide blade. Cement board is a cement backerboard designed for use with floors and countertops.

To smooth the floor i covered screw heads and seams in the cement fiber board with thinset.
